Just like Colin firth brought P&P to life, Dalton's portrayal is unprecedented! Yay for all of you who will watch it for the first time. You will LOVE IT! I read and loved Misconceptions too. A really fun read.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5341426921294114626.post-78849016617763797882011-12-23T07:52:48.113-06:002011-12-23T07:52:48.113-06:00I own Fitzwilliam Darcy, Rock Star so I wish to en...I own Fitzwilliam Darcy, Rock Star so I wish to enter to win a copy of Misconceptions. Btw, I'm international.

As I have not read Jane Eyre but I did watch the adaptations of 2006 miniseries and the recent movie. I think that Lizzy will not marry Mr Rochester and we will not have a hero worthy of adoration and to swoon about as Mr Darcy. Consequently, I may not put P&P as my favourite novel (besides Persuasion).Lúthien84https://www.blogger.com/profile/15390711363301378521noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5341426921294114626.post-34976939595667414192011-12-22T08:29:26.718-06:002011-12-22T08:29:26.718-06:00Fitzwilliam Darcy, Rockstar sounds like fun!Fitzwilliam Darcy, Rockstar sounds like fun!Laurenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14101490537328642725noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5341426921294114626.post-23182763005794850662011-12-21T20:43:20.610-06:002011-12-21T20:43:20.610-06:00You know, I read Jane Eyre in High School and did ...You know, I read Jane Eyre in High School and did my very first term paper on it. Unfortunately, I remember very little of the story. Fortunately, I did see the recent movie Jane Eyre and enjoyed it quite a bit. It's re-ignited my interest in the book. I was even eyeing a nice hardback copy in Barnes & Noble tonight! Hopefully I'll read it in the near future.

I'm not sure if I can answer your above question very well, but I can say that I think Edward would be a horrible match to Elizabeth!

Thanks for the giveaway - I'm in the U.S. and would love to win a copy of Misconceptions!

Laura Hartness
CalicoCritic at gmail dot comLaura Hartnesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03105906576784171388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5341426921294114626.post-38324667194266514662011-12-21T20:09:56.268-06:002011-12-21T20:09:56.268-06:00Mr Rochester was manipulative and hedged all bets,...Mr Rochester was manipulative and hedged all bets, even threw caution to the wind, to get the woman he wanted. Mr Darcy had quiet fortitude and could only hope to get the girl he loved. I don't believe Lizzy would have been attracted to Mr Rochester because she would have misinterpreted his desperate behavior as conniving, brash and worst of all untrustworthy. this is what she most disliked about Darcy when she thought he treated Wickham as such. In any case, unlike Mr Darcy, who selflessly took action to save the "Bennet reputation", Rochester's actions would not have Lizzy's welfare in mind but selfishly his own. Please, please don't mistake my comments for being a Mr Rochester hater. He was absolutely meant for our sweet innocent Jane while Mr Darcy was clearly destined for the astute judicious Lizzy. It just can't be any other way!
Also, don't include me in this give away. Nice to meet a fellow Austen blogger! I look forward to following your blog (added to my blog list).

I have to admit to Jane Eyer being my all-time favorite novel too! I love P&P though, and to put Edward Rochester in Darcy's shoes sounds sooooo interesting!
